About This Event

The workplace is now made up of four different generations spanning 44 years, all of which have different preferences for how, when and where they work best. Not only this but the levels of tech adoption can vary significantly within one team - the eldest will remember how to use fax, while the youngest won't know a life without a smartphone!

These differences could lead to friction and a challenging environment so for businesses to thrive, they need to discover innovative strategies that will bridge generational gaps, varied levels of ability, foster collaboration, and leverage diverse perspectives.

But how do they do this and what is HR’s role?

We'll be discussing this at our next event for forward thinking HR Leaders and we’ll be joined by two expert speakers:

  • Kate Richardson-Walsh OBE, Hockey Gold Medalist & Former Captain, will be sharing lessons in leadership from the Olympics, focusing on how to unite a group of people to form a winning team
  • Molly Johnson-Jones, CEO and Co-Founder of Flexa will be speaking about the benefits companies should be considering to create an inclusive culture that empowers all generations

After the keynotes, we’ll be running 3 breakout sessions on topics related to the overarching theme. If there is a specific topic that you'd like to discuss, please let us know using the form below. The final three topics will be revealed soon!

Speaker Profiles

Kate Richardson-Walsh

Hockey Gold Medalist & Former Captain

Kate Richardson-Walsh was a part of the Great Britain and England hockey teams for over 15 years, captaining the squad for much of that time. She also led the team that won gold in the nail-biting final of the Rio Olympics.

Playing in four Commonwealth Games, four World Cups and four Olympics, Kate was part of the team that took bronze at London 2012, but just two years later slumped to 11th in the world.

Repeatedly voted as captain by her teammates, Kate was a key part of the leadership group charged with
overhauling the team. From instilling a sense of professionalism and a will to win, to collectively adopting the tea mantra ‘Be the Difference, Create History and Inspire the Future’, she was vital to turning the team around. Despite a tricky route to the final in Rio, their widely admired team spirit saw them emerge victorious from a final that had the nation on the edge of its seats.

Molly Johnson-Jones

CEO & Co-Founder, Flexa

Molly is CEO and one of Flexa's Co-Founders, she's in charge of the overall direction of the business, as well as ensuring that everyone knows about their mission.

Prior to co-founding Flexa, Molly grew up between Somerset and London, has a first class degree from Oxford University and worked in investment banking, research, and strategy consulting.

Flexa was born after Molly was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and found that there was a severe lack of flexible jobs.

Flexa provides much needed transparency in the job hunting process by verifying companies as truly flexible. They increase their discoverability through company profiles that are browsed by millions of users, and elevate their presence through slick employer brand marketing.
