Partnering with Instant Impact as our RPO provider over the past 18 months has been an incredibly positive experience. From the outset, their flexibility and true partnership approach have been invaluable to our business - nothing has ever been too much trouble.

They've taken the time to get to know us and our business and we particularly appreciate their openness to feedback and willingness to cooperate with us and our wider TA function. I would highly recommend Instant Impact.

Ampa is a leading legal and professional services group, home to a portfolio of specialist brands including Shakespeare Martineau. Known for its collaborative and innovative approach, Ampa operates across a range of sectors. Since 2023, we’ve partnered with Ampa to support their talent strategy across the UK.

The
Challenge

In October 2023, Ampa faced an overwhelming hiring load, with over 100 open requisitions managed by a stretched in-house team. This high volume led to heavy reliance on external recruitment agencies and left little room for internal improvement initiatives. The internal Talent Acquisition team was consumed by attraction, screening, and hiring activities, preventing strategic development or process optimisation.

The
Solution

We initially placed a short-term contractor while conducting an in-depth consultation and audit to shape a tailored RPO solution. Once the long-term engagement began, efforts focused on high-volume, quick-turnaround roles. Key initiatives included:

  • Introduction of assessment centres to manage bulk hiring efficiently.
  • Consulting with the implementation of a new ATS capable of handling larger volumes.
  • Deployment of advanced recruitment technologies including skills testing (via Test Partnership) and one-way video interviews (via Willo).
  • Collaboration on improvement projects such as EDI reporting, workforce planning, and the rollout of SLAs.
  • Launch of candidate and hiring manager sentiment surveys to track process effectiveness and satisfaction.

The
Results

The partnership has delivered strong outcomes, including:

  • A significant reduction in agency reliance across the business (down to 6%).
  • Notable decreases in time-to-hire with a reduction of 8.5 weeks to 5.4 weeks.
  • World-class Hiring Manager and Candidate NPS scores.
  • Implementation of a survey-led recruitment process enabling ongoing improvements.
  • Established tracking of EDI initiatives to inform future diversity strategies.
  • A fully flexible and scalable recruitment team able to adjust quickly to changing needs.
  • Expansion of support from entry-level (levels 1 and 2) to higher-level roles (level 3) and full ownership of early careers recruitment.
  • Freed up internal TA resources to focus on strategic improvement projects, both independently and in collaboration with Ampa.
