Recruitment FAQs

Process

How will I receive my interview invitation?

You will receive your calendar invitation to the e-mail address you provided in your initial application.

Where will my interview take place?

Unless otherwise specified, screening calls will be conducted over the phone or via MS Teams. First-stage interviews will take place on MS Teams, while second or final-stage interviews will be held either on MS Teams or face-to-face, depending on the role and location.

What does the interview process look like?

Our typical interview process consists of 2–3 stages, unless otherwise specified.

The process may begin with a one-way video pre-screening followed by a screening call, or it may start directly with a screening call with a member of our internal team. If successful, this is followed by a first-stage interview with a senior team member. Depending on the role, there may also be a task stage, completed independently, tailored to your experience and skill set (e.g., for a data role, the task might involve working with Excel). The final stage, if reached, will involve at least one senior team member at Instant Impact.

How long will my interview last?

The duration of interviews may vary based on the role and seniority level. However, your initial screening call with our internal recruitment team will usually last 30–45 minutes. Each virtual interview thereafter typically lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour. If you are invited to a face-to-face interview, it will generally last 1–1.5 hours.

Will you send me any preparation for the interview?

Yes, our internal recruitment team will send you some preparation information, such as your interviewer’s LinkedIn profile, a link to our values page, and advice on how to structure your answers before the interview. This will be sent to the e-mail address you provided in your initial application.

What should I wear to my interview?

1st impressions do count so please attend your interview wearing business casual attire. For example, a button-down shirt or blouse, blazer, or a modest sweater.

The use of AI

During your interview process, we will be using an AI bot provided by Metaview. We use this with an aim to be consistent with our interviewing and reduce any potential bias. The AI will be recording your interviews, but don’t worry, if you are uncomfortable with this, we can switch it off!

What questions should I expect to be asked?

Some example questions are:

  • Please give me a high-level overview of your career so far
  • Why did the role at Instant Impact appeal to you?
  • What challenges do you expect to face in this role?
  • Which one of Instant Impact’s values resonates with you?

We will always center questions are the job role and your experience, so please also expect questions that will focus on the skills you have built during your career.

Communication

Between each interview, your internal recruiter will keep you updated on your process via phone call, as well as sending you preparation e-mails before any interview so you feel you are well-equipped!

Feedback

We aim to give constructive feedback to help with your job hunt as soon as possible after your interview.

If you are successful, our internal team will be in touch to deliver to you our offer of employment. You will usually receive a phone call, where you can verbally accept (or reject!) our offer. We will then follow up with a written offer via e-mail.

If you are not successful, our internal team will be in touch with feedback.

How do I give feedback on my interview process?

After your interview process is completed, you will receive a survey via e-mail to give your feedback.
